What we buy

Three houses, known well

We keep to the three names our sellers bring most, so the person pricing your bag sees these models every week. Pick yours for what we look at and what to bring.

How selling works

From photos to payment

  1. Send photos or call

Front, back, base, corners, the inside label or stamp, and the hardware. Tell us what came with it.

  2. Get a quote

We reply with a working figure, or questions if the photos leave something open.

  3. Bring it in

Book a time at our West 47th Street office. We look the bag over with you and confirm the offer.

  4. Get paid

Accept and you are paid on the spot in cash, or by check, wire or Zelle. Or choose to consign.

Tell us about your bag

The more we know, the closer the first figure. Brand and model, size, colour and leather, roughly when it was bought, and what you still have: box, dust bag, receipt, lock and keys, strap. You can email photos once we reply.

  • No cost and no obligation
  • Sell outright or consign
  • Paid in cash, by check, wire or Zelle

Before you sell

What decides the offer on a designer bag

Two bags of the same model can be far apart in price. These are the things we look at first, in roughly the order they matter.

Model, size and material

A Birkin 25 in Togo, a Chanel Medium Classic Flap in caviar and a Neverfull MM in Monogram canvas each have a steady resale market. Rarer sizes, exotic skins and seasonal colours can go either way: some sell for more than the standard bag, some take longer to place.

Condition, corner by corner

We look at the corners and base for rubbing, the handles for darkening, the edges for cracked glazing, the lining for pen marks and stains, and the hardware for scratches and plating wear. Smell counts too: smoke and perfume are hard to remove from leather.

What came with it

The box, dust bag, receipt, authenticity card, lock, keys, clochette, raincoat or strap all help. None of them is required, and a bag without its box is still worth selling, but a full set is easier to place and can move the figure.

Proof it is genuine

We check every bag before we make a final offer. Date codes, blind stamps, serial stickers and the newer microchips are part of that, along with stitching, heat stamps and hardware engraving. If you have the original receipt, bring it.

Your choice

Selling outright or consigning

Selling outright is the quick route: you agree a figure and leave with payment. Consigning can bring you more, but you wait until the bag sells. If you are not in a hurry, ask about consigning when you bring the bag in and we will explain the terms for that piece.

Live outside the city? You can ship your bag to us instead of visiting. Ask for a quote first so you know the figure before the bag leaves your hands.

Before you sell

  • The dust bag, box and any cards that came with it
  • The receipt, if you kept it
  • Clear photos of the front, the hardware and the date code or stamp
  • A note of any repair or spa work

None of it is required. A bag can be looked at and priced without any of it.

Questions

What sellers ask us first

Can you give me a price from photos?

Usually a close working figure, yes. Send clear photos of the front, back, base, corners, the inside stamp or label and the hardware. We confirm the final offer once we have the bag in hand.

Do I need the box and receipt to sell?

No. They help, and a full set is easier to place, but we buy bags without them.

How do you pay?

Cash on the spot, or by check, wire or Zelle. You choose.

Do you buy brands other than Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton?

Those three are what we know best and what this site covers. If you have something else, send the details anyway and we will tell you plainly whether we can make an offer.

Can I consign instead of selling?

Yes. Consigning can bring more but takes longer, since you are paid once the bag sells. Ask when you send your details.

I am not in New York. Can I still sell?

Yes. Get a quote from photos first, then ship the bag to us. Ask us how to send it before you post it.
